"La Poulerie"

'La Poulerie' is a small suite created by the skillful restoration of an old village stable. All work was carried out by artisans from the area, selected to ensure a style of restoration consistent with the surrounding Borgo of Burano. At the same time, it was our small way of supporting the local economy. The realization of the project had a troubled life. The Burano village, inside of which the structure is located, dates back to the 14th century and so the restructuring must, for this reason, comply with a series of constraints. The harmony between the final structure and the surrounding village context more than makes up for all troubles faced during the work. Our vision for 'La Poulerie' was to be a cozy little nest. Exquisite furnishings finely crafted, commissioned and produced by skilled craftsmen in Veneto, enrich the house giving guests an environment to pamper themselves in, relaxation and silence.

History

Once upon a time...

…a small village overlooking a panorama with countless glimpses of Lake Como, the valleys, the surrounding mountains wisely orchestrated by Mount Legnone at the center; this is Burano in Montemezzo. With all of that, one day when passing by chance, we fell in love.

Not long after, just a couple of months, and our dream of having a refuge far from the chaotic metropolis materialized. After some time, our eyes fell on this old battered little stable/hen-house, made even more battered by some small alterations.

Soon the spark started and led us to begin, as perfect novices, the work of design and restoration, able to revive the structure and make a contribution to the revival of the Village.

'La Poulerie' is a guest suite, on two levels and with a double private entrance, tastefully decorated and full of prestigious finishes. The main entrance is located in a lovely courtyard at guests' disposal.
The upper floor consists of a large living / sleeping area with enchanting views of the village and the lake. The lower floor consists of a bathroom, wardrobe area, kitchenette, laundry room and a secondary entrance. The house is equipped with everything needed to make your stay pleasant and relaxing.

Inspiration of the day
  Even the village, tiny and slightly steep, gave to the lake the harmonious enchantment of one of its sceneries: wide stone steps to serve as a docking place and for washing, at the foot of which some boats were moored, a house covered with vegetation, a quiet small square in clear stone with beneath the façade and the bell tower of a fine church.

Tourist Tax
